I have an arthritic left shoulder which makes it impossible to tie an apron around my middle at the back. So, I found a pattern for a cross-back style and loved it. When I discovered other women in need of this style, I started making them. They are also reversible. I take time (sometimes too much) finding the right combinations of the two fabrics. They are not connected at the lower hem because it enables you to carry things in the apron - such as eggs, books, recipes, etc. They are ample size of 1x-2x so are also unisex. Great for barbecuing. Machine wash and dry and iron if needed. The fabrics are all cotton blends.
